Field Geologist, Hydrogeologist, Field Chemist, Environmental Scientist

 

Position Summary:

New Jersey environmental services firm seeks several highly motivated individuals to work in our direct-push/direct-sensing division.  The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the direct-push operator in the advancement of direct-sensing tools (MIP, MiHPT etc.)  collection of soil, groundwater, soil gas samples and the occasional installation of  monitoring wells.  This person should be capable of lifting and carrying heavy loads (over 50lbs.) and working in all types of weather throughout the year.  Additional growth opportunities exist within the company, such as positions that include data visualization, interpretation and reporting along with field manager positions.

 

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate performing this job will be required to perform the following functions:

• Ability to travel continuously for 10 days or more

• Collection of direct-sensing data (chemical and lithologic) at environmentally impacted sites

• General maintenance of the direct-sensing systems and associated support vehicles

• Collection and handling of soil, groundwater, and soil gas samples

• Reporting via the Internet using spreadsheet, databases and GIS

• Daily interaction with clients

 

Required Skills:

To be considered for this position, the following skills are required:

• Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Access, GIS, GPS, etc.) 

• Excellent communication skills – verbal and written.

• Ability to improvise, multi-task, and troubleshoot

• Clean driving record and the ability to pass a Department of Transportation physical exam including a drug test

 

Experience and Education:

A Bachelor’s Degree in geology or geology related environmental science.
