S₂C₂  Inc. (S₂C₂) is a small business incorporated in August of 1998 and located in Raritan, New Jersey.  S₂C₂ was formed by a group of experienced environmental professionals all with a particular interest in the site characterization and monitoring phases of environmental cleanup projects.  This group of scientists saw a need to pull together a specialized team who are experienced in expediting the characterization process.  A recent ASTM standard (D6235-98) called Expedited Site Characterization (ESC), e.g., TRIAD,  was sponsored under one of the S₂C₂founders and is the hallmark of our business. S₂C₂ provides on-site field analysis, direct-push sampling, and advanced GPS/GIS services for site assessments.

At the core of the ESC/TRIAD process is the field team’s ability to make quick accurate on-site decisions.  The S₂C₂team has completed projects for their clients within days using this process.  The founders of S₂C_2, Mr. Steve Gelb, Mr. Todd Morgan and Mr. Matthew Ruf have a combined 50 plus years performing site characterizations using the TRIAD/ESC process.  Mr. Steve Gelb and Mr. Todd Morgan have a combined 28 years of environmental consulting experience in a nationally known environmental firm before founding S₂C₂.  Their principal role at that firm was to provide senior technical guidance and review, along with field leadership on major ESC/TRIAD programs, with a particular emphasis on complex DNAPL site evaluation for both chlorinated solvents and MGP wastes.  Along with government sector ESC/TRIAD jobs, the S₂C₂ team has been responsible for introducing the ESC/TRIAD concept into the private sector.
