Environmental Job Opening

S2C2 Inc. seeks several motivated individuals to fulfill a summer internship position and multiple full-time employment openings in our direct-push division.   Established in 1998, S2C2 Inc. is exclusively dedicated to the design, implementation, and interpretation of innovative site characterization approaches.  Our staff is specifically trained in all aspects of Triad programs (i.e., systematic planning, dynamic work strategy design and implementation, and the collection, interpretation, and presentation of real-time measurements).  We have assembled a large variety of equipment and instrumentation specifically intended for expedited site characterization implementation.  We have extensive experience in conducting vertical groundwater quality profiling with the use of depth-discrete adaptive sampling, often used in conjunction with direct-sensing MIP Technology.  Such activities have proven quite effective in identifying subsurface sources of groundwater quality impacts and/or defining the extent and configuration of the resulting dissolved plumes.  Our direct-sensing capabilities include:

 •           Membrane Interface Probe (MIP)

•           Electrical Conductivity

•           Fuel Fluorescence Detection (FFD)

The skill sets required for the direct-push positions range from entry level to 3 plus years environmental field experience.  For full-time employment a NJ  Test Borer license is a plus.  A degree in geology, environmental science, chemistry or a related science a must. Primary duties to include operation of direct-push/direct-sensing units, environmental sampling and field/lab support.  Some travel maybe required.

Essential Functions:

·        Operation of multiple direct-push units.

·        Operation of screening level laboratory equipment.

(Field GC, XRF, Test Kits)

Minimum Qualifications:

 ·        BS/BA in Environmental Science/Geology/Chemistry or related field.

Skills and Abilities:

 ·        Excellent communication skills – verbal and written.

·        Ability to improvise.

·        Ability to multi-task.

Physical Requirements:

 ·        Ability to lift and carry heavy object (up to 50 lbs.) on a daily basis.

·        Ability to perform daily tasks in any type of weather.
